POSITION SUMMARY Pilot will operate an aircraft in a manner that enhances the Sheriff’s Department operations. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Be familiar with and comply with all regulations, policies, and procedures as prescribed by the Federal Aviation Administration, Sheriff’s Department, and Metro Air Support Unit directives. Obtain local weather reports and forecast at the beginning of each shift if there is questionable weather in the area. Conduct pre-flight checks of aircraft at the beginning of each shift and post-flight  checks at the end of each shift. Position Summary   Position for a Civilian, FAA commercially licensed Rotorcraft Pilot who would have all the duties to serve as Pilot in Command for the Air Support Unit’s Helicopters.  Additionally, it is preferred that applicant have prior experience as a “Law Enforcement” (prior sworn LE pilot) and preferable to be “Dual” rated in “Fixed-wing” aircraft (commercial) with “high performance endorsement” as well.  This would allow the pilot to also serve as “Pilot in Command” of the department’s Fixed-wing aircraft.               It would also be preferred that the applicant have completed Airbus/Eurocopter transition training and be experienced with Airbus H125 (AS50B3e AStar) and Eurocopter EC120B Colibri aircraft.   This is a safety sensitive position subject to random drug/alcohol testing.  This is an unclassified at-will...
